Wedding at Boldt Castle

Last weekend I traveled up north with Genevieve to Alexandria Bay to photograph the beautiful wedding of Julia and Bill. Neither of us had ever been there or photographed a wedding at Boldt Castle, so we were in for a treat.

Julia got ready in a very high tower and made a grand entrance to the outdoor ceremony site by walking down the winding steps. Here she is peeking at the guests before the ceremony started...

The weather was threatening - and it stayed dry the entire day and started POURING during the reception. The castle is on an island, and therefore you must take a boat to get there. The last boat was getting ready to leave as we were finishing pictures. There was a call for the bride and groom to board the boat.... running so they wouldn't miss it!
The reception was rocking!

Ok... so I'm a day late in posting more images from my cute little boy session on Sunday. Sorry mom --- I know you're out of town so maybe you'll see this and smile at your lovely family!Look at how cute that little guy is!! Boy, he loves his dog, huh?

Dog tired!

Just one quick picture tonight from my session this afternoon... I promised mom I would get one posted and I now promise that I will add a few more tomorrow!

things I love...

pigtails, dresses, flipflops, sunshine, hightops, moss growing between bricks, bandaids on boo-boos.... the list goes on!


Take a good look at Addie in her dress... you wont catch her in one too often. Last year she wore skirts and summer dresses all the time.... didn't even have a pair of shorts in her closet. This year, it takes a special moment for her to wear a dress. Not sure why she obliged today... but I was happy!

Justine and Almin's lovely wedding

Justine and Almin got married on July 11th on what was a very threatening weather day! Downpours started around noon and it looked like the day was going to be a complete washout. Fast forward to about 5pm when the skies started to open, the clouds moved out and a brilliant blue sky allowed them to have the wedding in the garden of the Wellington House, just as they wanted!

The Wellington House was very eclectic. Each room had so many treasures --- it was like an old antique store with hat racks, old signs, victorian chairs and a plethora of knick knacks. I found this funny statue of a man playing chess and I thought it would be fun to see what he though of the wedding rings... what do you think?

There really aren't words to describe his cuteness... I have photographed him before and commented on his every inch and roll. He is a ball of joy. I'm not sure if I mentioned before how beautiful his eyes are, though... the bluest of blue. Gorgeous! He is CUTE!

Cristan and Cory are married.

Yesterday... July 4th... Hamilton, NY... a wedding!
The lovely Cristan and Cory got married yesterday and Genevieve and I were there to capture it all.

The rain held off and although it was a bit cool and breezy, it was a lovely day for a wedding.

A bit about the guys -- I hung out with Cory and his groomsmen a bit before the wedding and enjoyed hearing stories of days gone by and watching them interact. Such a great group of friends, you can truly tell that they have been together through thick and thin and will be friends for life.
Cory's gifts to his groomsmen were personalized bats. So cool! Each groomsmen (and the dads) got a bad with his name on it as well as Cristan and Cory's name/date.

The guys were very animated, so we did lots of crazy pictures involving the bats... here is Cory coaching his best man on his bunting:

swim swim!

Addie is on a swim team this summer for the first time... following in Dada's footsteps (or, his strokes). She is a good little swimmer and she is excited about being a part of the team. I think it will teach her the basics of sportsmanship, teamwork and encourage new friendships. I can't wait until her first meet next week -- I'm sure I'll be posting about it!
