That List...

Remember that list that I published in early 2011... and revisited around mid year? My list of things to do in 2011??? Yea... I remember. I think I may open up that file tomorrow and review it. Perhaps I'll roll over the un-done items to my 2012 list. Do I add new items? Just finish the unfinished business?? Can you even believe the year is over in one more day? I can't.

 What beauties, inside and out! These two sisters were so pleasant to be around - I really enjoyed our session. We had a great time getting to know one another and I noticed that they really like to smile, especially the younger sister. I tried to get them to be serious. Nope, only smiles. I loved it!

It's that time of year when I photograph this crazy crew of siblings. This year one set of cousins came along for their very own session as well. Always, always a good time when we get together for pictures. I love personality!!!

In the woods

 Loved these kiddos... fun, down to earth, natural. We had a great session in their heavily wooded "backyard" (their house is right next to this beautiful landscape). Here are just a few images that caught my eye...

Smarty Pants.

I was excited to go to this session... 6 month old little girl, totally adored by her parents. Little did I know that I would be meeting the most advanced 6 month old I think I've ever seen! She is curious and confident... social and aware of everything that is going on around her... she definitely knew she was getting her picture taken... strong and smart... getting ready to crawl. Not to mention absolutely gorgeous with a smile that already melts hearts!

Almost didn't happen!

One thing I've learned about photography sessions and kids is that it's really the kids who rule the show. There is only so much cajoling, coaxing, bribing, bargaining you can do with some kids in order to get them to participate in the session.

The nice thing about the style of photography that I do is that kids don't have to be "picture perfect" all the time. It's more about life, and life isn't always the way you want it to go!

The little guy in this group ruled the show in the beginning. There were tears, lots of them. There were lots of "no I'm not getting my picture taken" moments. I actually thought we'd have to throw in the towel and give up with him. Luckily, his awesome older cousins helped me and we let him pout behind a cool white pumpkin for a bit. This is his face in the beginning...

This family is awesome! I met them a few years ago, I believe through mutual friends from our church. They are the type of family that you want to have as friends. Fun and down to earth mom and dad, great kids who are full of energy, polite, loving and all around wonderful kids. Definitely the types of kids you want your kids to be friends with. Every time I see them it seems like we've been friends forever. They are warm, caring and just really, really special.

 First, let me just say that I'm working very hard to get everyone's galleries posted --- I'm a bit behind, but working hard!
