glide and score

We have been enjoying the pond in our neighborhood. Addie is getting quite comfortable on her skates and seems to really enjoy it. Jack is working on his hockey moves and has gone back to his regular boots for the time being ("16 more days", he tells me!).

We had the extra bonus of being at the pond today when the crew came to clean the ice. Love the homemade Zamboni!!!

two year old triplets - Happy Birthday!

Who is excited to be TWO???? These three little cuties! They had a fabulous party today at My Gym with friends and family (including another set of triplets and a set of twins!). If I were to guess, ALL the children there today went home and took a big nap! Whew! Bubbles, zip lines, balls, trampolines, bars, musical instruments and CAKE! Ok... I'm going to be honest... I am not 100% positive that these two images are both the sisters and not two images of just one of them!! I'm pretty sure they are different - but since they were dressed in the same adorable tee, it is hard for me to tell them apart!! I so want to be two again so I can wear two party hats at the same time!

Thanks so much guys! It was fun to see all of the kids in action. Happy Birthday little ones!

Random

Is it cold enough??? I have friends who live across the US and it seems it is cold everywhere. Texas is cold, South Carolina is cold, Kentucky... all cold. Aside from our minor chapped lips and cringing every time we need to go out we are making the best of it. We had our neighbors/friends over tonight for what I dubbed, "Bar Food night," -- homemade chicken wings, nachos, spinach and artichoke dip and bruchetta. Yummy... and hopefully a little more healthy than your standard bar fare.

I attended a seminar last week put on by AVOW (www.dignityofwomen.org) called Smart Martha (www.smartmartha.org) . I didn't really know what to expect when I walked into it, and I registered on my own, without any friends to accompany me. The presenter, a Catholic woman with 9 children, spoke about being a woman, wife, mother and the "responsibilities" that go along with it! She had a great message and many great ideas for organization (for the home). The seminar touched me... maybe it is the new year, maybe it is the down time I have with the business, maybe it is that the kids are back at school.... but, I have different attitude, I am trying to be more centered. Trying to be more organized. Trying to be better - both at home and within.

The other event that touched me this week was the US Air flight that landed in the Hudson River. WOW. I have so many emotions about the situation becuase I travel by air with my children a lot, I travel US Air a lot and I travel to Charlotte a lot!!! I simply cannot imaging going through this with my kids. My thoughts also go to the pilot who is obviously a brilliant man (my uncle is also a pilot, so I always think of him in situations involving air travel, too). Can you EVEN imagine how he was feeling during the ordeal. Surreal. As I was watching the coverage on the news, I just kept saying to myself what an awesome God we have to protect these people... what an awesome God.

Looking forward to a session tomorrow with TRIPLETS!!! I have never done a triplet session, let along triplets who are turning 2. Oh my!! Wish me luck!! I'm actually going to their birthday celebration, so it should be a lot of fun.

I'm going to leave you with a few pictures the kids and I did today. These are classic Addie and Jack... goofy, silly, but, boy do I love them!!

COLD COLD COLD

It's cold.
We've spent most of the day inside today - staying toasty warm and having fun. I haven't goofed around with the camera for a few days so I got it out today and we snapped some pics - here are some of my favorites.

My little guy

He's just so darn cute!

Wanted to jot down a couple of funny and endearing things he says lately.

First... he just looooooves me and he is very affectionate. He often comes up to me out of the blue and tells me he loves me. Today, lucky for me, he told me I was "the best mom he's ever had." thanks Jack!

He enjoys when we have make-your-own pizza for dinner. I buy flatbread or english muffins and then the kids make them however they want. I asked him if he wanted to make a pizza tonight and he said, "do we we have monsterella cheese?" Thought that was cute...

He loves to have his picture taken and now whenever he does something funny he asks me to get my camera and take a picture of him. Then, thanks to digital, he wants to see it right away.

Finally, his latest expression is, "is it weally trwue??" For example... today I told the kids to get their coats on that we were going to Target to which Jack exclaimed, "Target? Is it weally trwue??!!!!!"

It is really true for me that it is 8:30 and I AM HEADING TO BED!!!!!!!!!! Yea! I haven't been to bed this early in a long time. Good night!

Good night!

I knew the kids were in Jack's room watching a DVD before bed.... I checked on them a bit later and this is what I saw!!!

Best Friends!

6 months old.
Five years old.

Almost five years. That is how long these two have been friends.
This is Addie's best friend. And I mean best.
They used to see each other three times a week at school. This year they go to different schools, so they see each other once a week or so. Each time they greet each other it is with a sincere, heartfelt love.. "HELLO!!!"
So different.
Addie has traditionally been more loud, obnoxious, bossy, noisy, messy... Payton more gentle, soft, timid, shy... but they compliment each other and they are like soul sisters!

boo, hoo... our best friend will soon be moving away. I mentioned that fact to Addie tonight after they came over for dinner. Addie was shocked, "WHAT???? Do you mean I wont get to see Payton very often???"
Don't even want to believe it. We'll deal with it when it really gets here....
until then, we'll have fun playing!

A few days late...

in wishing you a Happy New Year!!!!

Did you check out my New Year's greeting on my website??? I have been thinking about resolutions. I'm not a huge fan of them, but I do believe in taking time to evaluate your life and figuring out how you can be a better person.... let's face it... we all can improve on aspects of our life.
Stay tuned for more thoughts on my "resolution." I am trying to scheme up a great give-away for Stephanie Antshel Photography, so keep checking the blog or my website...
